LYRICS
Good Weekend
Nothing says more than the way you talk about the rain
Is your glass half full and on the up or do you complain?
It happens every other day
I think it matter what you have to say
So are you moving on or will you stay?

'Cause we had a good weekend
We kissed under a warm spring shower
I know it's too soon to speak, and
Maybe it was only for the flowers
But I need something to believe in
And maybe this won't go too far
But there's color running through a fading heart

A brother calls me up, said a gig just came up out in Japan
He says "Man it could be fun and even more if you would come, do what you can"
But Japan sound far away
And I'm on the fence about the pay

There's nothing in the world like a beautiful girl to numb the pain
I see it all around me in my friends who've shared their names
I've had my share of hanging out
But I'm as of yet to make it count
So am I moving on or will I stay?
Walking to a Star
Heaven sounds far, like we won't get there in cars
And I hear that the bar's set real high
We won't all get inside

We could trade vows, just as long as we're allowed
To gracefully bow out in times
Of trouble and/or strife

Pity the flowers beholder to the showers
And however many hours of sunlight
Without it they've no life

But you my dear flower, entitled and empowered
Can get your sun any day or night
At last we've got it right

And there are some that content themselves with less
And won't have a gripe

And some consider that fortunate
But we were never the type

We may have our flaws, we may have dirty paws
But they still fling doors open wide
Now won't you step inside

People are mad. They want you to be sad,
Begrduge what you have, it ain't right
It really isn't right

Heaven sounds far, like walking to a star
But one day we'll figure it out
We always do somehow

A Quiet Mind
Floating far adrift on pools of time
My touch soaks every memory I can find

Looking everywhere but at the signs
And taking all the detours in my mind

And then from my bed, in a dream I said

If a silence falls on my mind and I'm ready to live again
Ready to hurt again
Will you hurt with me?

If the fear subsides and the light laughs aloud at the walls I made
Will you have stayed that long?

And all you've ever been to me is kind
And all I seem to be is in a bind

If this is a chrysalis, I'm bound
To live through this and then love you when I'm out

If a silence falls on my mind and I'm ready to live again
Ready to hurt again
Will you hurt with me?

If the fear subsides and the light laughs aloud at the walls I made
Will you have stayed that long?

And I don't wanna turn back
And for the courage I lack, there's love
No Accidents
What happens when the sun comes out
And spreads it hands to clear the clouds
What will you do with all the doubt
That surely you've no use for now

No reason for to hang about
No promise made to tie you down
No oath you swore to not be proud
So smile cos baby you're allowed

And don't make it hard
Especially your heart

Paint the sky a colour that you like
And fill it with the things you find
Or things that find you
Keep in mind, when it's not making sense
There are no accidents
It's all in your mind, in your mind

Perception of your life before
Makes almost every memory sore
Skin on your hands and knees is raw
And you've abandoned your desire for more

But daylight's here to help you out
Let morning flood and drown the drought
See what you couldn't find somehow
It's right behind just turn around

So don't make it hard
Especially your heart

Paint the sky a colour that you like
And fill it with the things you find
Or things that find you
Keep in mind, when it's not making sense
There are no accidents
It's all in your mind, in your mind
Till the Rain
Watching the credits roll, coming to
Ninety-odd minutes have passed
Calls from my other life push through the breach
Shouting how nothing lasts

Some of my best work I do in dreams
Which makes it no less real to me
It's not that I'm willfully trying to be
Separate from my responsibilities
Head in the clouds, away with the breeze,
Till the rain brings me home

It's not like that I ever wanted this to happen
I was just playing when the fire burned me down
Now you go and draw your own conclusions
But when you do it, do it when I'm not around

Free! All that I ever want to be
Sweet words rang in my heart
And on I'll go; living without boundary
The world can say what it wants
What do they know?
Nothing that ever really matters

Love her
Be her lover
Love until you become part of her

Eyes! Quick, close your eyes!
I think I can fly!
Come on! Let's try!

Some of my best work I do in dreams
Which makes it so clear to me
It's not that I'm willfully trying to be
Separate from everything I could be
But a head in the clouds isn't where it should be
And the rain brings me home.
